Entry

The entry into the U.S. is possible with the so-called ESTA visa. This can be requested online:

The following has to be considered regarding an ESTA application
  • You are a citizen of a program for visa-free travelling
    (WVP – Waiver Visa Program) of the participating country.
  • Currently, you do not own a visitor’s visa for the U.S. or ESTA permission.
  • Your travel period is no longer than a maximum of 90 days.
  • You are planning to enter the USA for commercial or touristic purposes.
  • You are planning to apply for travel permission for one, two or several persons (groups).
The costs for this application amount to $ 14.00 per person.
The ESTA entry permission is valid for 2 years. (Status: 2019)

Car hire agencies (Dollar, Alamo, Sixt etc.) are all directly located at the Fort Myers Airport (RSW) in a outbuilding.

A valid credit card as well as your driver’s license has to be presented on collection. Currently, an international driving license has not yet been demanded. (Status: 2019)
