Visiting Miami is a must when staying in Florida (approx. 3-hours drive away from Cape Coral). Miami is also called “Magic City” because this tiny trading post has developed to a roughly 5000 km² large city with about two million inhabitants in the course of a century. Visitors love Miami - especially for South Beach, the beaches and the influence from Latin America and the Caribbean which is everywhere perceptible.
The Ocean Drive, the strolling promenade along South Beach is world-famous for celebs. The Ocean Drive is bordered by the most beautiful of about 800 restored buildings of the art-deco neighborhood. Preferably, it is possible to enjoy the atmosphere of the Ocean Drive in a pub or a café along the waterfront. Do be careful with cocktail prices!
The Beach – a majority of the sand was imported to Miami Beach two years ago. Sand is backfilled regularly in order to counter coastal erosion.
Miami has a wide range of tourist attractions. The following are just few of them:
Jewish Museum of Florida, The Wolfsonian Museum – Florida International Museum, Holocaust Memorial, Bass Museum of Art.
Lovely parts of Miami: Downtown and Little Havana, Coral Gables as well as Coconut Grove and Vizcaya.
